RSS - the modern way to subscribe to news involves no e-mails. You personally select the information to be downloaded on your computer. Here is how it works:
1. You need a so-called RSS reader.

2. Enter the URL of the news channel in the reader (click on one of the news channels below and copy the URL in the address line of your browser).
3. If you are no longer interested in the news, delete the URL.
You see: With the RSS service we are not sending you anything. Your PC downloads the information. The decision is yours and yours alone.

RSS Detailinfo
RSS is an XML standard to provide messages or text information to other computers. Unlike a website called up by the browser, the information is reduced to its content in a RSS file. Through logical identification it is made platform-independent and can be universally interpreted.
In contrast with standard websites, RSS files can be read and processed by many other programs, the most common of which are the RSS readers. These readers can monitor all updates in any website with RSS news channels and display new RSS files upon request.
Using a RSS reader saves time, because it allows you to subscribe to several news pages, while calling up the pertaining website only when necessary.
